In Between The Years…
525600 minutes … how do you measure a year?
Ever since I had the pleasure of seeing the musical Rent many years ago, I like to ask myself this question during Twelvetide between December 24th of the year that is ending and January 6th of the following year.
Many things that happen in a year can be counted or measured in other ways. Some of them can be experienced as joy, others as sorrow.
It can be helpful to look at both. To develop gratitude for joy and also for some sorrow from which we may have learned. It helps to accept what is, even if some of it is difficult to accept. In the end, everything is transient. Even if it does not always seem so to us. With some things we can hardly wait until the time comes. With others, we wish we could hold on to them longer.
What helps me to endure the dire that seems to have come to stay?
What helps me to accept that it is time to let go of something beautiful?
What gives me solace in times of grief, gives me courage in times of fear?
What fulfils me when I enjoy something?
So how do you measure a year?
Personally, I prefer to measure it in seasons of love.
With this in mind:
Have a good transition into the new Gregorian year!
Are you ready to shine a bright light of awareness on the path of beingness, today?
Much Love, Steffi
