My blog got started on April 1st 2012, no joke. This has been nearly 10 years ago, now. And what I have never told you is this: It took me a lot of courage to put my thoughts and ideas out there. In fact, it still does.

So, why am I doing it?

I started writing my blog because I wanted to share ideas, get in touch with likeminded people and have exchange about the diverse views on life. I had so many inspiring conversations in comments – of my own blog as well as of other people’s blogs and also exchanges came about aside the blogging world. Further, I have learnt how some of my insights have really helped other people. As I know how it feels to be on the receiving end of such help, I always thought, if me sharing my insights and ideas is providing this kind of inspiration for only one person, it was worth the effort.

Meanwhile I came to appreciate the process of writing itself a lot, too, albeit I could do that without sharing the result with anyone. But then the exchange would be missing. It feels good to get those thoughts out on the pages, to see them written and the process of writing it for others to read inspires me to reflect in an additional way on my ideas in order to make sure that I present them with the best clarity possible at the time.

What I like most about my writing, whatsoever, is, how it surprises me, basically every time.

It surprises me how ideas suddenly flow on the pages and how often insights emerge that I had not been aware of, before.

It also surprises me, and here is another confession, when I read older posts of mine, how inspiring I find many of them. Often, while reading them, I forget that I have been the one who wrote them in the first place. This also gives me hope that my blog has become an archive of ideas and thoughts that perhaps are of value for others, as well. Even if it is merely for that one person.

Do you write? What do you like most about your writing? Do you sometimes get inspired when you read older works of yours? – And if you do not write, yourself, what do you like most about reading?

Are you ready to shine a bright light of awareness on the path of beingness, today?

Much Love,
This blog post has been inspired by the WordPress Bloganuary 2022 prompt of day eight:
