It Is Always About Balance – Zen Musings

Dieser Blogbeitrag ist auch in deutscher Sprache verfügbar.

In the course of Bloganuary I have recently been asked, who inspires me. In the according blog post I pointed out how difficult I found it to answer this question. The same is true for being prompted to describe my ideal day.
Why is this so?
Well, actually, there are two reasons for this:
- This is very private and I do not necessarily wish to share all the details about it on a pubic blog post.
- It is kind of a broad topic, as there is no such thing as “the ideal day” for me.
There are so many factors that can make a day an ideal day – if I would try to include them all I would probably need more than 24 hours to live it out loud. Yet, the day is not necessarily less ideal if one factor is missing. There are simply various possibilities and therefore different combinations of various factors are possible.
Further, I do not like the idea very much to hold on to a picture of how an ideal day should look like. There surely are certain aspects that need to be given and others that would not fit in, but generally I have often been surprised by how the most beautiful days in my life ended up looking like while the ones that I expected to be “ideal” did not turn out to be that, at all. The problem with ideals is, that they depend on one idea we hold on to in our minds and those are usually somewhat limited compared with the grandness of what life is willing and able to present us with.
If I should boil it down to only one aspect and say it in one sentence, perhaps I would answer the question of how my ideal day looks like with what I have learned through Zen:
My ideal day is spent in an ideal balance.
How exactly this balance looks like is something I choose to let life surprise me with. What I can do, personally, to be ready to receive is to find and maintain a stance that allows me to be as ideally balanced as possible.
What does your ideal day look like?
Are you ready to shine a bright light of awareness on the path of beingness, today?
Much Love, Steffi

oops I meant palm leaf shade…
You are right and alos I would not want to share the ideal day public; it depends on so many factors. So my ideal fictional day is: lying in a hammock on a beach with palmtrees, slurping a cocktail, listen to music and reading a good book in the warmth of the sun yet under the palleave shade. There you go. 🙂
I appreciate that you are speaking in palm leaf shade metaphors, Ute! 😉💗
“Very wise, Grasshoppuh!” 😉
