#KBFWalk At The Park On New Year’s Day

Dieser Blogbeitrag ist auch in deutscher Sprache verfügbar.

On New Year’s Day, I went for a walk at the nearby LCA Altonaer Volkspark. I only planned a short visit as I am still walking on crutches but instead, I took a two-hour walk and even made it to the old oak tree behind the rose pavilion.
The sun was shining and many people were out and about – mostly couples. The half-moon also made an appearance in the clear blue sky.
Despite the fairly high temperatures the plants in the park were mostly hibernating and the trees stood bare.
However, I heard a lot of different birds and also saw some of them, most of which I could not define. There is quite a variety in the park as it has an integrated nature conservation area.
After visiting the oak tree, I took a turn by the little pond as I happen to know that shortly before dusk the concert of the songbirds is very beautiful, there. Also, I had seen a heron flying by and was wondering if he had landed by the small body of water.
Near the bird feeding station, I saw lots of finches, a few blackbirds and several common woodpeckers who pulled my leg as they came very close but hid behind the branches as soon as I had the camera of my mobile phone ready. In the trees by the pond, I also discovered the heron. It was a bit difficult to determine against the light of the sinking sun but it was clearly him.
A photographer with professional gear was walking around the pond to find the best position for his shots and was kind enough to make everybody aware of what he saw.
At the end of my stay, a couple of common buzzards announced themselves with their haunting calls and sure enough, I saw them circling the grounds high up in the sky only a short moment later.
The sun was sinking quickly, now, and I wanted to be out of the park before darkness would set in. Also, I had to relax my leg. But it was a wonderful experience that I had missed dearly.

With this in mind:
A Happy And Healthy 2023!

How was your start into the new year?
Are you ready to shine a bright light of awareness on the path of beingness, today?
Much Love, Steffi

Sounds like a lovely day and those images are beautiful.
Thank you, Pooja. 😊
It was lovely.
You’re very welcome and glad to hear that.
Sounds like a wonderful walk. I’m happy for you. Beautiful photos 🙂
The new year has started okay. I have motivation to focus on what brings me joy and to cut out things that don’t. Also have motivation to work on narrowing my focus so that I don’t get overwhelmed.
Thanks Alex. It was full of wonder.
Sounds like an awesome plan. I’m glad that your motivation is coming back. What a beautiful New Year’s gift. And the rest will come, one step at a time. 😊
Wonderful! That’s the best thing about a walk 🙂 (when it’s filled with wonder).
Thank you! Yep, I can’t rush myself. Gotta take it easy.
Thank you again 🙂 :).
You are doing just fine, Alex. 😊
I appreciate you and your comment, Stef :). You rock.
So do you, Alex!
Thanks!! 🙂
Wonderful pictures, and it is so lovely to hear bird sing in Winter.
Thank you, Ute.
Yes, it is wonderful to hear birdsong in Winter.
Today four bullfinches, a great tit and a robing visited me in the plum-tree in front of the balcony. That was quite a choir.
I love the overlapping shifting patterns of the branches in the video. They are mesmerizing.
