Today marks the start of Celtic Autumn. – Yes, that is right. It is already the time, again, and the days are clearly becoming shorter, now.
Although I, myself, am a child of Autumn and love this time of year very much I am wondering, this year, where Summer has been, actually. Yes, it is true that I do not care much for temperatures of over 25°C, that on some days I even get sun allergy in the shade and that on days with the most beautiful high pressure areas my circulatory system often invites me politely to keep it especially calm and enjoy the sun from the sofa.
The Summers of my childhood rarely had more than 25°C and I enjoyed the Summer 
breeze, Summer smells and Summer colours – and the sounds which are always carried in such a special way during Summer. Then, I did not yet have a sun allergy. However, I easily got sunburnt – also through the T-shirt, sometimes. I do not miss the latter.
This Summer reminded me a bit of those childhood Summers – only without getting sunburnt which I find very practical. But somehow I have the feeling that it just raced by and that time went by too quickly.
Simultaneously, I have the feeling that I am more in the Here and Now, that I am more present, that time is slowing down in a pleasant way and leaving space for me to breathe, again. Something that seemed to get increasingly rare over the last 20 years.
On one hand the stress in the world and around me seems to increase, the pressure seems to get stronger. At the same time I feel more and more connected with a strong calm that comes from deep inside and easily unfolds to the outside when I turn to it. This also seemed to be virtually impossible during the last 20 years.
Now, the dark season begins and yet there is more light shining on Earth than ever before. And even though that much light is shining here, now, so much darkness is emerging simultaneously.
The presence of all those seeming opposites is sometimes deeply confusing. And at the same time it all makes sense, somehow – yes, it even makes so much sense that a lot becomes clear to me for which I did not expect an answer, anymore, and questions get answered before I even asked them.
It is a time of opposites. But this time it is not about going to war and proving who is right and who is wrong. Now, it is about casting aside judgements and realising that everything is part of the whole.
In the course of the last age a lot of chaos has been caused. Now is the time to look at it, to clean up and to integrate the seeming opposites. Instead of pointing the finger at everything that looks different to our eyes we are now allowed to reach out a hand and to build bridges. At the same time this calls for awareness of our own boundaries and that we allow ourselves to have those. This is part of the realization of who we really are, where we are standing and how we want to contribute to this new world that is in the process of becoming.
Everybody is allowed to find out for themselves how such an integration process looks. It probably works differently for everyone. My tip for a start:
To step a little bit out of the doing and making and allowing oneself more often to just take in a position of observing. It is ok if we do not have a solution or an answer for everything, right away. After all, we are stepping onto completely new grounds. But maybe we will find new ways when we stop to check in, more often, and allow ourselves to simply be there with everything that is, when we allow ourselves to slowly let go of our judgements about how something, someone or we ourselves should be.
